Overview

SecureVPN.pro is indeed a Hong Kong-based VPN service provider, operational since 2014. It offers a network of 36 servers across 22 countries, predominantly in Europe, Asia, the USA, South America, and Australia. The service is compatible with various operating systems including Windows, Linux, macOS, and Android. SecureVPN provides military-grade encryption (AES-256) and supports multiple tunneling protocols like PPTP, L2TP/IPsec, IKEv2, and OpenVPN.

Features

SecureVPN has military-grade encryption (AES-256) ideal for handling sensitive data because it renders your traffic content unreadable even if it falls into the wrong hands. Depending on your needs and the device you are using, you can choose one of the following tunneling protocols: PPTP, L2TP/IPsec, IKEv2, or OpenVPN. The service also includes the kill switch, which disconnects your device from the internet if you get disconnected from your VPN.

The provider offers StealthVPN, a special type of protocol that you will want to use if you wish to disguise the fact that you are using a VPN. This feature comes in handy in case you want to avoid ISP (Internet Service Provider) throttling, or if you wish to access restricted sites and stream from the ones that prohibit the use of VPNs.

If you are considering getting SecureVPN and you require an increased level of online security, you should know that subscribers to certain plans have the option of using Double VPNs – the technology that allows you to use two VPNs. This means that your encrypted traffic is sent to the first server, which encrypts the traffic for the second time and hides your IP. Then the double-encrypted traffic is sent to the second server, which decrypts the traffic and sends it to its destination. The Double VPN feature is particularly useful to people with high-risk jobs such as journalists and activists, who cannot afford to have their data stolen.

Another important feature to mention here is the dedicated IP address, which will improve your speed and safety, and reduce the chance of getting blocked to zero.

The number of simultaneous connections SecureVPN allows depends on the type of plan you choose and varies from one (Basic plan) to five (Advanced or Pro plan on a six- or twelve-month subscription).

Advantages of SecureVPN.pro

Given its encryption and protocols, SecureVPN can do a decent job of keeping your information safe and private. Another pro is that the provider offers additional features such as Double VPN and Dedicated IP for those users who need more than just basic protection. A dedicated IP and Dedicated VPN server can be bought in addition to your plan for $2 and $10 a month, respectively.

SecureVPN does not offer one and the same type of service for a different amount of money depending on the length of subscription – the packages actually differ (e.g. only the Pro package can use Double VPN).

There are three available plans: Basic, Advanced, and Pro. Each of them can be bought for the period of one day, one week, one month, two months, three months, six months, and one year (with the exception of the Pro package, which is not available on a day’s plan). When you click on each one of the subscription periods, the price in the plan chart changes to show how much the service would cost for the chosen period and per day.

As of 2024, SecureVPN.pro offers three main pricing plans. The Basic plan costs $7.9 per month, the Advanced plan is $10.9 per month, and the Pro plan is priced at $17.9 per month. Each plan varies in the number of devices supported and features offered. For instance, the Pro plan includes the Double VPN feature and allows changes in location without reconnecting. These plans reflect a range of options catering to different user needs, from basic protection to more advanced security requirements.

Disadvantages of SecureVPN

The number of locations SecureVPN works with is very limited and includes countries that are in surveillance alliances. Most of the servers are in Europe and the USA; there are only several servers in Asia and just one in Australia.
